These points are distributed based on a property\u2019s qualifications in three areas:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"margin-left: 30px;\">\n<li>Affordability<\/li>\n<li>Energy efficiency<\/li>\n<li>Accessibility<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You can choose to focus on <strong>one area or any combination of the three<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>These points can then be applied to reduce your required down payment, increase your amortization period, and decrease insurance premiums.<\/p>\n<p>To receive the <strong>maximum incentives<\/strong> (e.g., 5% down, 50 year amortization) a property must have a <strong>minimum of 100 points<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>point distribution differs<\/strong> depending on whether the property in question is <strong>an existing property vs. a new build<\/strong>.
