{"id":1531,"date":"2023-10-23T22:00:03","date_gmt":"2023-10-24T04:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/calgaryreihub.com\/albertas-real-estate-boom-a-golden-opportunity-for-investors-copy\/"},"modified":"2025-04-29T21:49:49","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T03:49:49","slug":"updates-to-the-city-of-calgary-short-term-rentals-rules","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/calgaryreihub.com\/fr\/updates-to-the-city-of-calgary-short-term-rentals-rules\/","title":{"rendered":"Updates to the City of Calgary Short-Term Rentals Rules"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Did you know that the City of Calgary is implementing changes to the requirements of a property in order to obtain a business licence as a short-term rental operator?<\/p>\n<div>Key changes\u00a0<b>taking effect in January 2024<\/b>\u00a0to the business licence requirements include:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>A floor plan of the dwelling unit or portion of the dwelling unit offered must be provided, including:<\/li>\n<li>All rooms for rent, including all rooms offered as bedrooms or available for the purpose of sleeping (living rooms with a fold out couch for example)<\/li>\n<li>Location of all smoke alarms and fire extinguishers<\/li>\n<li>Location of fire exits<\/li>\n<li>Dimensions of the rooms<\/li>\n<li>Proof of ownership of the dwelling unit or written owner consent<\/li>\n<li>If in a condo, also need written proof from the condo board that Short Term Rentals are permitted<\/li>\n<li>Proof of Insurance indicating the location is operating as a business<\/li>\n<li>Licence Inspector review<\/li>\n<li>Annual fire inspections done by Calgary Fire Department will be required to ensure compliance with all life safety requirements<\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Did you know that the City of Calgary is implementing changes to the requirements of a property in order to obtain a business licence as a short-term rental operator?
